The Riviera Beach Clubs That Mattered in 2026

Pampelonne still sets the pace, but the Riviera beach club has changed. This summer’s defining addresses stretched from new openings and old institutions to fashion houses taking increasingly ambitious positions on the Mediterranean.

There is no shortage of places to book a sunbed in the South of France. Far fewer tell you anything about where the Riviera is heading.

Summer 2026 made that distinction particularly clear. Along the coast, the beach club continued its evolution from seasonal restaurant into something closer to a temporary world: part dining room, part fashion address, part hotel extension and, increasingly, a place where luxury brands establish a physical presence for the summer.

The interesting part wasn’t simply who had the newest parasols. It was which addresses still mattered once the branding was stripped away.

Loulou Ramatuelle

Pampelonne

Loulou remains one of the reference points on Pampelonne, but 2026 brought something new to the equation: Brazilian fashion label PatBO established a seasonal presence at the beach club.

It is indicative of a broader shift along the Riviera. Fashion is no longer arriving solely through temporary boutiques in Saint-Tropez; it is becoming part of where people spend the day.

Loulou, meanwhile, hardly needs reinvention. Its relevance rests on the combination that has kept Pampelonne compelling for decades: lunch, beach and an afternoon with no particularly convincing reason to leave.

Casita

Pampelonne

The more interesting story on Pampelonne this year may be one of its newer names.

Casita opened for the 2026 season with chef Zouhair — also behind the kitchen at Casa Amor — and a menu moving between Mediterranean and South American influences.

In a stretch of coastline dominated by names with considerable history and recognition, a new arrival has to offer more than a good location. Casita is worth watching precisely because it enters that established ecosystem without trying to reproduce one of its institutions.

Casa Amor

Ramatuelle

Casa Amor returned with Dolce & Gabbana for summer 2026, with the Italian house bringing its Carretto Siciliano motif across the Pampelonne address.

The collaboration is intentionally visible, but Casa Amor also demonstrates why certain fashion-beach partnerships work better than others. There was already a strong identity here before the fashion house arrived.

Rather than creating the destination, Dolce & Gabbana temporarily changes its visual language.

La Guérite

Île Sainte-Marguerite

Not everything that defined 2026 was new.

Off Cannes, La Guérite continues to occupy its cove on Île Sainte-Marguerite, reached by boat and operating as restaurant, beach and lounge.

That slight inconvenience of arrival remains part of its relevance. At a moment when almost every element of luxury travel is being made faster and easier, some Riviera institutions still benefit from requiring a little effort.

The beach itself is relatively small. The destination is not.

La Piscine Keller

Cannes

One of the season’s most unusual moves involved a Riviera institution leaving the beach that made it famous.

Plage Keller dates to 1931 at La Garoupe in Cap d’Antibes. With its historic location undergoing restoration, Keller relocated for the 2026 season to the seawater pool at Palm Beach Cannes.

The temporary address, La Piscine Keller, puts the Keller name into an entirely different setting and gives Cannes one of the summer’s more interesting crossovers between old Riviera hospitality and a newly revived landmark.

It is temporary by design — which may be exactly what makes it worth seeing this year.

La Plage Belles Rives x Burberry

Juan-les-Pins

The fashion collaboration that perhaps made the most sense this summer happened at Hôtel Belles Rives.

Burberry took over the hotel’s beach club and terraces for the season, adapting its check to a blue associated with Belles Rives and extending the collaboration through details across the property, including the private jetty.

The partnership runs through September 30.

Belles Rives already has the history and setting that brands often attempt to manufacture through a summer activation. Burberry didn’t need to invent a Riviera backdrop. It borrowed one.

La Rose des Vents x Gucci

Monaco

Further east, Gucci chose La Rose des Vents at Larvotto for its Monaco summer residence.

The house’s Flora motif appeared across the beach setting, accompanied by an on-site Gucci boutique. The collaboration began in June and is scheduled for the summer season.

It is another indication of where the European beach club is heading: the distinction between spending the afternoon somewhere and shopping there is disappearing.

La Plage du Martinez

Cannes

On the Croisette, La Plage du Martinez represents the other side of the 2026 Riviera.

There is no seasonal fashion takeover required here. The Hôtel Martinez operates its private beach directly opposite the hotel, with the restaurant open daily for lunch and adding dinner service during the summer.

Its continued relevance is useful context for everything happening elsewhere on the coast. The Riviera may be experimenting aggressively with collaborations and pop-ups, but the traditional grand-hotel beach club hasn’t gone anywhere.

What Summer 2026 Changed

The most telling thing about this summer wasn’t the arrival of one new club.

It was the number of industries now competing for the same stretch of sand.

Hotels want the beach to function as an extension of the property. Fashion houses increasingly see it as seasonal retail and brand territory. Restaurants are building entire identities around the hours between lunch and sunset. And established names are discovering that longevity can be as powerful as novelty.

That makes the best Riviera addresses harder to define — and more interesting to watch.

The places that mattered in 2026 weren’t necessarily the newest, loudest or most photographed.

They were the ones that gave people a reason to build the day around them.
