Locke Opens in Canary Wharf as Lamington Rebrands Room2 to Second Nature
Two long-stay operators moved on London's periphery this week: Edyn opened Locke London Canary Wharf with Holloway Li interiors and modular guestrooms, while Lamington Group retired the Room2 name in favour of a new brand, Second Nature.
Edyn has opened Locke London Canary Wharf, with Mid-Century interiors by Holloway Li that treat the ground floor as a series of filmic "sets" anchored by bespoke joinery built with East End carpenters Craftworks Productions. The floorplate is divided into a lounge overlooking the dock, a library, a deli cafe and a bar, with furniture from Tacchini, Pierre Frey and Pierre Jeanneret, and art rugs made with Modersia. A rooftop bar and restaurant, also by Holloway Li, follows in late 2026.
Holloway Li describes the guestrooms as the first upscale modular lifestyle hotel rooms in the UK, fitted out entirely off site after factory prototyping, which allowed for larger lounge areas and open-plan bathrooms. It is the studio's third Locke for Edyn; CEO Alastair Thomann called the property "an important addition to our portfolio".
Separately, Lamington Group has launched Second Nature, replacing the Room2 name at its long-stay hotels in Chiswick, Southampton and Belfast. CEO Robert Godwin said the original name "belonged to the business we started". The group operates more than 330 rooms with a confirmed pipeline of 2,200 keys, including York in May 2027, Shepherd's Bush, Manchester, Cambridge and a 200-room Leeds hotel due spring 2028.
